My Avast program will not start.....
When I reboot my system Avast does not auto-start and when I open Avast and click start I get a messages stating "The operation could not be completed".

I have Avast v4.6-603..

This problem just started happening and I tried uninstalling/reinstall and I am getting same problem.

Can you post more details?
Which is your operational system?
Do you have any other antivirus installed?
Do you use a firewall? Which one/

Generally, this error is most likely correct by this procedure:
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the pop up window (Repair).

if you're using avast! 4 Home, open the <avast4>\Data\avast4.ini file in Notepad, find the line Database=ODBC and change it to Database=XML

Completely uninstall avast!, reboot, and reinstall it from the scratch... nice clean install after SP2 upgrade... post back.
