avast! piggybacking for Adobe/Opera???
« on: March 12, 2013, 11:51:57 PM »
Hello, would anyone know why avast! announces updates for Adobe and for Opera please?  Also, these avast! carrying Adobe's updates are too frequent, like several a week!  As to Opera....I don't even have that program....

Thanks ever so much for your ideas   :)    Adela

Avast alerts users for critical updates. That is all. Nothing to do with piggybacking, just for the software you have and is outdated, meaning risky.
It is a service like we know from Secunia's, but now it comes build into your av solution. I think it is great, because a lot of users will get infected because lots of people are sloppy with updating/upgrading (OS, browser and other third party software),

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!
