Remote Assistance Issue

I just discovered this wonderful tool inside Avast so I decided to try and connect to my desktop in my home office. I connected almost instantly which I loved! BUT once I was in my computer I could only open programs but not work in them, the permission box opened up to allow access to my Quick books and when I clicked ok nothing happened until I went to the desktop and clicked okay on it. Isn't the whole point to have full access to the remote computer? Do I need to change settings? 7.0.1483 is the version on my laptop and the desktop is 8.

Which version of avast do you have ??? Free or paid and if paid, which version ???
