Hi Lukor,
I'm also a new Avast! user.
So far, I really like it because it doesn't slow down my computer like AVG or even worse, Norton.
Unfortunately, I cannot seem to be able to download large files on
www.download.com like I used to (small files download but bigger files either start downloading and stop at +/- 5% of the download or the download will not start at all. After a few minutes, it times out and gives the following error message: (title of window: Download error) The_file_attempted_to_download could not be saved, because the source file could not be read. Try again later, or contact the server administrator.
The file I attempted to download is:
http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2652_4-10710658&ontId=2652_4&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext<ype=dl_dlnow&pid=10710658&mfgId=64748&merId=64748&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.download.com%2F3001-2652_4-10710658.htmlTried 3 different big ones. Only the small ones did download properly.
With this one for instance, I had no problem:
http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2079_4-10534306&ontId=2079_4&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext<ype=dl_dlnow&pid=10534306&mfgId=6282967&merId=6282967&destUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.download.com%2F3001-2079_4-10534306.htmlAs for Shoutcast, either it buffers to +/-45% and then stalls or else it will buffer all the way to 100%, plays for 5 seconds then stalls. At the bottom of Winamp it says: [BUFFER: 0%] Song_name
Here's an example of a Shoutcast link that doesn't work (none of those that I tried work):
http://scfire-ntc0l-2.stream.aol.com:80/stream/1040 However, a previous poster indicated he had problem with the following feed at one point. I tried it and I'm still listening to it right now. Works fine. I'm glad to have found the KNCT station. Great muzak. I truly enjoy it.
Plays well in WMediaPlayer AND in Shoutcast with no problem.

Deinstalled Avast! and reinstalled it after rebooting.
Avast Home 4.7.1029
Extreme toolkit Ver 1.9.4.0
ZoneAlarm Pro 5.0.590.0.15
OS: XP Home SP2
layer: WinAmp ver 5.35 (x86) & Windows Media Player 10.00.00.4036
Previous Anti virus: AVG avg75f_476a1043 (deinstalled normally (NOT deinstalled in safe mode))
Browsers: Firefox 2.0.0.5 & Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11
Please let me know what I should do. Thanks in advance.
Pete.
