Avast and Verizon Media Manager
« on: March 24, 2013, 07:53:06 PM »
I am trying to use Verizon's Media Manager to display photos from my PC on my TV. The TV software claims it cannot "see" my PC. Yet, on the TV, I can display my network info, and it is all correct. My guess is that somehow Avast is blocking Verizon (despite the fact that I have the Firewall set to home, which should permit all local traffic).
The Verizon help says they use Port 5050 to discover devices (like my PC), and there are three programs that must be added to the exceptions list.
How do I go about doing this?

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks for the response. I tried pausing Avast. No joy. Should have tried this first on my own. looks like there is a verizon problem.
