I just started a boot scan in Windows 8 and noticed that the Windows 8 logo came up before the boot scan did (using Avast eight). From my memory, I thought that the boot scan appeared before any Windows logo (right after the BIOS screen). I also noticed that the BIOS screen took way longer than usual. Could a virus be interfering with Avast boot scan?
My friend used my portable hard drive on his virus-ridden computer and I'd be surprised if this portable drive didn't get a virus. I disconnected my computer from the internet, plugged in the portable drive, and immediately went into a boot scan.
