avast 4.6 home stops scanning

I have just downloaded and installed avast Home edition v4.6   but get an error every time I try to launch the program from the desktop icon or from the system tray ball icon:
ashsimpl page fault in actskin4.ocx
I'm running win98 SE with ZA running .
I hope someone can advise me, Pablo.

Look HERE and scroll down to "Q: I have installed avast! 4 Home and everytime I try to open it, I get an "unknown error message", "Application cannot load skin. Function usiGetSkin Failed". How do I fix this?"
