Hi!

Since 2013 I had that (no avast-icon) occasionally under 'XP Pro' and somebody here told, that this can happen. But we can be sure, that avast works. So everytime that happened, I checked with 'Task-Manager' and avast did work.  :)

I had the same problem. I was told to just do a re install and it appeared. All seems ok now.
