Same issue, this will be the third full clean reinstall in the last month. Each time it goes from 340 to 350+ days left on the sub to trial not activated.  Is there a real solution to this uninstall-reinstall every week other than changing to a different provider?

I don't have problems for the past two weeks since I
did clean install (uninstall in safe mode).I guess everything
is OK,to knock on the wood.

The uninstall utility will ask if you want to boot into safe mode. Cool.  8)

Avast V8 FREE Seems to get upset if you do a system restore in Win xp and is an ongoing issue it looses its config and turns into pro version and is a pain!!. As i had a system crash on V8 and had to restore the computer bsod boot loop!

I have gone back to V7 FREE From oldapps.com again as long as the virus definitions are uptodate then you are protected.

If you use V8 FREE to reset it you will have to use aswclear uninstal utility each time.
