Way to print scan logs
« on: June 14, 2011, 01:00:39 AM »
Hi All,
I did a scan of our server which is using Avast Free. All our workstation backups are there as well in Win7 MSbackup (zip) format. The last custom Avast scan came up with 72 infections. Is there a way to print out the Scan Log so that I can go through these infections 1 at a time and spend some time on it? I don't see a print button. I want to make some notes of my work and I can't really do that in the digital version of the log.

Thanks for any assistance

Les

If it's only the log and not a report (i.e. a report file creation wasn't specified in the corresponding task setting), I don't think so.

Btw, speaking of server / workstations... sounds like a corporate environment (where using of avast! Free is certainly not permitted).

Individual user of 'free' Avast.
So, its not possible to 'save/create' a text file for an Avast 8.0.1489 scan log/report ?
And, no such file stored in an Avast program folder ?

If it's only the log and not a report (i.e. a report file creation wasn't specified in the corresponding task setting), I don't think so.

To generate a log file for a scan, open the scan settings and check the Generate report file, avastUI > Security > Antivirus > Scan Now and select the scan, click More options, Settings, Report file.

You will see an * asterisk in the File name filed, this means the report file will have the same name as the scan name and will be located in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVAST Software\Avast\report folder (XP location) C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report folder (Vista, win7)
