other program update warnings

Avast is telling me that I need program updates for programs such as java, etc. But the programs are current, and when I attempt an update, it cannot be done. Why?

What version of avast (1483 or a beta)?
If you are beta testing 8.0.1485 then I would suggest you check out the beta board http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=15.0

If not...
Try a repair Control Panel>Uninstall>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot  :)
