Whats with steam and avast seriously?
« on: April 24, 2013, 12:05:33 AM »
I have been using avast for years and latetly I started using more steam for my gaming needs and I noticed avast seems to like slow-down steam with connecting and even blocking source games from launching for some reason.

I deleted avast to test this out and after deleting avast everything seems to work fine with steam.
I tried steam on my laptop where I also have avast installed and same problem like on my desktop so ya....whats going on here guys.

Is this a problem with avast not trusting steam?

Nah nothing at all but I'm 99% sure avast is the cause since I have checked everything on my system and after removing avast the problem was solved also I'm using windows 8.
so maybe it's a combo of windows 8 + steam and than if I throw avast in there it for some reason blocks steam connections and valve games from launching.

Hi,
WIN7 64bit here.

I have no problems with the combo avast / steam.

But i have a problem that refers to steam, that annoying updating every day.
That`s the reason that i won`t let steam start up when i set on my pc.
