« on: April 17, 2013, 07:55:34 PM »
Hi

First of all : great thanks for your Apps.

My settings :

Lock Phone Settings:   Yes
Prevent USB Debugging:   Yes
Force Data Connection ON:   Yes
Thorough Wipe:   No
Lock Phone:   No
Low Battery Notification:    Always
Only Allow Friend Commands:   Yes

My issue : when phone marked as LOST in myavast, it's still possible  to access Phone Settings and possible to uninstall app,
even avast! Mobile Security
  :-\  (not Anti-Theft )

tested on Samsung SG3 and SG2 rooted

Any idea ?

Nobody , no idea ?  :-[

So, as "Phone Settings" is NOT locked , it s possible to go to Settings -> Developer options -> USB debugging ... and allow it !
(tested on Samsung Galaxy S3 and S2)
so, what s about "Prevent USB Debugging" Anti-theft option ??
(I've not yet tested debugging)

Somebody to answers ?
thks

What do you mean by a "debug log" ?
Do you mean sending a Feedback from AMS app ?

FYI :
Lock Phone Settings : OK on Google(SAM) Nexus 10 (JB 4.2.2).  If yes, unable to access Settings  :P

Hi,
I guess I have the same problem.
I have Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread. I set, in the Anti-Theft definitions, :
Lock phone unticked.
Deny phone setting access ticked.

But in my avast web site, when I try 'Lost', which should initiate the same actions as a SIM card change, I notice that I can still do everything with the mobile phone, including unistalling apps, even the Update Agent (I guess this is the Anti-Theft)! This is no good!

What is the "Deny phone setting access" actually supposed to do?

Thanks.

I just tested on my phone, a rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 on Android 2.3.5.

"Lock Phone Settings" is working as expected. However I can still uninstall apps if I go in the task manager. ATT doesn't appear in the list, I think this is because it's installed in rooted mode ?.
"Prevent USB debugging mode" is also working as expected since I cannot access the phone settings at all (I didn't test if ATT disable it if it was enabled before the theft).

------------------------

I also tested with Lock Phone Settings : OFF | Deny Program Manager Access : ON | Prevent USB debugging mode : ON
-> I can't go in "Manage apps". BUT I can still go in "Running services" and then I have access to all the tabs (Downloaded, All, On SD card, Running) and can uninstall apps. So I would say "Deny program manager access" is a useless setting as it is. By the way I can also uninstall apps by going in the task manager (long press on HOME button).

About USB debugging I can tick it (and it doesn't get unticked) but when I connect my phone it still uses the MTP protocol so I guess this is working as intended.

At the end of the day this is not perfect but some settings are definitely working normally on my phone. So I'm surprised when you say you also tested on SGS2 and it didn't work.

You are living in the past .... or you like the gingerbread  ;)

I solved my isssue (alone, not on this forum!) : "Lock Phone Settings" does'nt work on ICS (4.0.4) neither "uninstall protection" ....
but all is OK on JB (4.1.2 / 4.2.X)  8)  . (No test on GB)
So if u upgrade, I vd advise u to go directly to JB , it's available for GS2 .

If you use Deny Program Manager Access : ON and Lock phone settings OFF can you still go on "running services" and then uninstall an app in the downloaded tab ??

About GB yeah it works perfectly on my phone. I read many stories of people having crashes or battery issues after updating to ICS with the SGS2. Also I tested the browser on a SGS3 and there were some stuff I didn't like. Last thing, I heard it's recommended to wipe your phone before updating (to avoid any problems) and it's a pain in the ass to backup everything then restore, making sure everything is set correctly, changing the settings and so on..

You can (should ?) upgrade to JB 4.1.2 .  All works fine (including AMS/AT)! , on SG3 too
regarding the browser, I d advise Chrome ....

EDIT/Add : NO wipe needed , I d advise to flash with Mobile Odin ..
Reedit : ! as you come from GB I must say I dont know if wipe is required or not !!
