Stolen Laptop
« on: April 24, 2013, 10:00:37 PM »
Hi, my house was robbed and my laptop was stolen. I have reported it to the police and gave them the serial number.

According to this forum http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=79396.0 Avast can help out. User pk said "yes it's possible" and sent a PM to the other user with instructions on what to do. Can you please also help me? I am willing to pay any extra fees!

Status Update:

So PK emailed me, asked for information, then forwarded me to someone else at Avast which was able to look up their records to see if my laptop has connected from another IP since it was stolen, but it has not yet. I was told to create another ticket in a week or 2 so they could look at their records again.

I had to provide my license key, email address I registered with, and full name for them to be able to look up the information.

I'm really happy with their willingness to go out of their way to help me out!
