Removing On-Access from Startup
« on: March 21, 2005, 04:29:48 AM »
I'm trying to use avast as just a virus scanner, but I can't seem to disable the on-access protection or keep avast from becoming resident in memory at startup.

Is there a way (other than uninstalling it) to keep all pieces of avast from running at startup?

It really depends on which is your operational system...
Maybe you could disable the providers and answer yes to persist the changes.
It's good too take a look in Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast > Change option and uninstall the providers that you don't want.
