Abort connection
« on: March 23, 2005, 06:21:12 AM »
So, on the webshield on a webshield notication "abort connection" will abort the connection to the website or what?  The reason I'm asking is because my internet connection is on all the time.

Yes, if the webshield detects malware, it will prompt you to "Abort Connection" and the offending nasty will have no chance to be downloaded onto your computer.

Webshield doesn't abort an internet connection when it finds a virus (although it can crash Firefox sometimes when it does.) Does it abort the connection to the Web site URL? It seems to me that a web site can continue to load after I've clicked 'abort connection'. Or does Webshield have the ability to delete certain elements served up by a web site without breaking the connection?

I'd like to know too!

It simply aborts the download of the infected file, that's all.
Technically, it aborts (breaks) the connection used to download the file.
