I just upgraded to the latest version and the problem is worse now. After powering-on my phone I got used to going into the Avast UI and unchecking then re-checking the firewall enable so it would begin working. Now when I try to uncheck the enable box it stays checked, and the firewall is not working.

We didnt change anything...

What happens exactly when you uncheck?
PS: did you already try "use highest priority" setting?

It turns out that my superuser app went on the fritz after the last Avast update so my phone basically unrooted itself. I uninstalled ChainsDD superuser and rerooted using the Clockworkmod SU and everything is fine now. The Avast firewall kicks in as soon as the phone boots and I no longer need to mess with it.
