What happens when my avast! Free's license expires

Today this afternoon, I decided to download the Avast! Free Antivirus and the Avast! Uninstall Utility on my computer before my expiration date for my registration expires on March 8th, 2018. First, I used the Avast! Uninstall Utility to uninstall this program. After that, I re-installed Avast! Free Antivirus. After that, my expiration date for the registration will expire on March 8th, 2018 still pops up when it goes on. It was a little confused to me. Normally, computer users uninstall and re-install Avast! Free Antivirus to get different expiration dates for registration every month.

Before my expiration date for my registration for Avast! Free Antivirus expires on March 8th, 2018 on my computer, do I really need to register this software to get a new expiration date before the last 30 days?

I found this FAQ page because I found true evidence about activating Avast! Antivirus after expiration for registration for the next upcoming year.


After my expiration date for my registration for Avast! Free Antivirus expires on March 8th, 2018, I would say that I can re-activate this software to renew for one year.


It makes more sense to me.

As I've just found out! Mine was due to expire soon but there was no button to re-register it. Reading this thread, I've just had another look and it expires in 360 days, so it automatically updated 5 days ago. Phew!

Why am I getting a nag screen every time I turn on my PC about renewing my license.

According to the message in the subscription tab / box my subscription is valid until 15/04/2018 and I still have (170 days remaining).

If I have 170 days remaining, why the nag screen every time I boot up?

To top this off I must agree with the person asking about the capture letters, very hard to see them all and on my PC even with the sound up full blast, I cannot hear anything!

Iv'e just had to click six times to actually see the image, and unlike other websites, the letters didn't change from what I can make out.

If you're using the latest version of Avast, registration for the free version is no longer required.

Mine was a link to the download of the latest version. I didn't think an explanation was needed.

I still have 103 days left until my subscription for Avast! Free Antivirus expires on March 8th, 2018. After it expires, I can activate this software again to get a new expiration date. Very simple, it is. I’m still not worried about it again. =)

It should update the registration again.

Currently this is a bit of a mess, as can be seen from other posts, the problem being avast is saying one thing and the program another. It is saying your registration is about to expire, but the program says another thing, when it does expire it should renew.

Hopefully by the time your registration is due, this mess/confusion should be resolved.  I certainly wouldn't be worrying about it with over 100 days to go.

Today, I still have 99 days left until my subscription for Avast! Free Antivirus expires on March 8th, 2018. I hope all my programs and files wouldn’t get infected on my computer ever again. Hope this helps me. It will automatically update my subscription after it expires.
