RPC Error
« on: April 11, 2005, 07:30:55 AM »
???  I am running win 2000 Pro on a Toshiba Portege 7010CT and I have the red circle on the a-ball and when I double click it I get the message The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error.  I applied the fix as suggested but it does not fix the problem.

I uninstalled and reinstalled but still the problem persists.  Any help would be gratefully received.

This is usually due to another anti-virus being present, but not always. Do you have another AV or did you have another AV installed - if so which one?

I would suggest that you try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, avast! Anti-Virus, Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
Windows 10 Home 64bit/ Acer Aspire F15/ Intel Core i5 7200U 2.5GHz, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD/ avast! free 24.3.6108 (build 24.3.8975.762) UI 1.0.801/ Firefox, uBlock Origin, uMatrix/ MailWasher Pro/ Avast! Mobile Security

Did you boot after uninstalling and installing?
Do you have any startup monitor (TeaTimer, Ad-watch, ProcessGuard, PrevX)?
