When? the so called beta cause a BSOD and kills the OS, a system refresh is required to get it booted.

Windows 8.1 is in preview state. I guess it's to be expected that avast is in beta state while .1 update is in preview state & still in working mode.
When final and officially .1 update become published for Windows 8, then I'm sure avast will be ready too.
