It is a browser hijacker.
Step 1: Open your Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. Then end the related process of Isearch.fantastigames.com/440.

Random.exe

Step 2: Reset your browser settings. (Take IE as example)

Open Internet Explorer. Click on the Tools menu and then select Internet Options. In the Internet Options window click on the Advanced tab. Then click on the Restore Defaults button and then press OK.

Step 3: Search and delete following files.

%Appdata%\Local\random.exe
%ProgramData%\Internet Explorer\xhebftts.dll
%AllUserProfile%\Windows\Desktop\ Isearch.fantastigames.com/440.lnk

Cybersecurity is more of an attitude than anything else. Avast Evangelists.

Use NoScript, a limited user account and a virtual machine and be safe(r)!

It is a browser hijacker.
Step 1: Open your Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del. Then end the related process of Isearch.fantastigames.com/440.

Random.exe

Not there, doesn't seem to exist.

Step 2: Reset your browser settings. (Take IE as example)

Open Internet Explorer. Click on the Tools menu and then select Internet Options. In the Internet Options window click on the Advanced tab. Then click on the Restore Defaults button and then press OK.

Did that already, several times, doesn't help.  If you go into Internet Options in Control Panel, it states that the default is Google, but once you bring up Internet Explorer, it still redirects to Isearch.fantastigames.com

Step 3: Search and delete following files.

%Appdata%\Local\random.exe
%ProgramData%\Internet Explorer\xhebftts.dll
%AllUserProfile%\Windows\Desktop\ Isearch.fantastigames.com/440.lnk

Can't seem to find these either, don't seem to be in my system.

Hi there lets clear you up ...  There are traces of zero access there

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL
  • Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

Code: [Select]
:OTL
IE - HKLM\..\SearchScopes\{9BB47C17-9C68-4BB3-B188-DD9AF0FD2465}: "URL" = http://isearch.fantastigames.com/web?src=ieb&gct=ds&appid=107&systemid=465&q={searchTerms}

[CREATERESTOREPOINT]
[Reboot]
  • Then click the Run Fix button at the top
  • Let the program run unhindered, reboot the PC when it is done
  • Open OTL again and click the Quick Scan button. Post the log it produces in your next reply.
THEN

Download and Install Combofix

Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • Accept the disclaimer and allow to update if it asks

  • When finished, it shall produce a log for you.
  • Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.[/b]
Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

3.  If after the reboot you get errors about programmes being marked for deletion then reboot, that will cure it.

Please make sure you include the combo fix log in your next reply as well as describe how your computer is running now

I don't want to speak too soon, but it seems the issue is fixed.

I will report back if I run into additional errors.
