Spam via PM
« on: March 29, 2005, 07:22:44 AM »
Hi everyone, I am a new user here :)

I have received 2 PMs from this guy called saijoe who I think is spamming us using the PM feature.

Is there anything the admin can do? Thanks :)

Hi and welcome hexlord,
Im sure if enough people report this problem then something will be done. meanwhile you can set his user ID to be ignored quite simply in your profile settings

Yes, we have unfortunately seen the PM spaming on this forum. I have changed the Forum Policy accordingly and we have banned several users who did this last week. We hope these problems are only temporarily and will disappear soon.

I too hope that we will not see a repeat of this PM spamming, the first I've heard of in the time I have been on the forums.

Perhaps a suggestion, to restrict the number of members you can PM at once to say 5 or 10. I appreciate that this may impact on some members legitimate use of the PM facility, it would make it less attractive to drive by PM spammers.
