I usually have my customers deploy when systems are not in use, as the reboot NEEDS to occur for full protection to be in place.  Have a great 4th of July!

avast! Small Office Administration console (SOA)

3. Modify the deployment package for each type of system deployment: Desktop, server, or SharePoint server. NOTE: There is only a single deployment package in SOA

Hello.

So, we have to change this within "SOA => Admin => Settings => Components" each time in advance (depending upon the "client type" we intend to deploy). Yes?

In the case of a file server, the best practice would be to uncheck EVERYTHING with the exception of the "File System Shield" (and Sharepoint Shield / Exchange Shield as appropriate)?

TIA,
Stephen

This is a good questions Studio_Two

I am thinking the same thing.

I will change these settings and deploy everything to the PC's then I will just manually install the Server deployment on it's own.

Dear Stephen and Joeal,

That is 100% correct, that is best policy.  Create a group for each type of deploy, and move systems into those groups.  I have 4 groups WS, SVR, Exchange, and Sharepoint groups..  Edit each group, go to shields, and adjust which shields that are on "green" based upon what was deployed to that group!

77.

I tried following the Migration Guide here with no success.

Even if I push the "Uninstallation" job that I made for my test environment - it believes that it's successful but Avast! is still on my test machine.

I have 85% of my workstations listed as "Has not communicated with Avast!" "?"

J.R. I was checking the SOA console and there is an update for the console. It seems you have to download the installer and install the new 1.3.2.21 version, will that install on top of the 1.2.2.12 version?
