The links show that user may need to exclude certain programs if encountering a problem but as you failed to extract any information whatsoever from the OP you have no idea what there referring to so as I stated earlier your post was irresponsible and irrational to make such statements without some background information and unless you are receiving conflict issue no exclusions should be applied.

Now as I did mention earlier " lets wait for the OP to respond "

Game or not Mr. craigb...............The links provide proof about excluding or disabling antivirus is a common practice. So did I answer  etm42 original question? Yes. Did I provide links to show why he may need to exclude certain software? Yes.  etm42 asked how to exclude a certain program and I answered him. Its irrelevant what that program is. The EA link also clearly states about adding the exe to your antivirus exclusions and or white list. Which is exactly what etm42 problem is and question pertains to.

I rest my case thanks.
Your answers do not help the OP get to where his/her system is more secure.  Seems you are playing the devil's advocate based on your so-called higher level of knowledge.  Responsible system engineer, not.

I think Asyn gave the best answer, not you.  At least he is looking out for the OP, and all other avast! users as well.  Note that this discussion basically was highjacked by you for your own purposes.  Need attention?  Seems you've got it.   :o

Aside from the fact that the OP hasn't returned to the topic, we should leave it alone until we get some feed back one way or another.

They have both sides of the story so they can make an informed decision.
