Avast error code 10091
« on: April 02, 2005, 05:46:52 PM »
I am new to the forum and am glad to see there are others with problems too (sorry  :'(.)

When my laptop's Windows 2000 professional starts up, I now get 4 error messages which say 10091. Recently, I had the W32:Trojan-gen {Other} virus, which Avast removed. Also, the memory had been infected and a boot time scan was performed. Since then, I get these 4 messages and my wireless connection will not connect with my wireless network.

These were the files which were infected, now in the virus vault;
czzcly.dll (in winnt system 32 folder)
dolsp.dll               ditto
euueio.dll             ditto
hmmhlz.exe         ditto
hpphku.exe (in documents and settings all users)

Thanks for the help.

An error 10091 usually means that you have a problem in the TCP/IP pinging.  This will cause networking connection trouble.  You stated that you cannot use the wireless connection.  A definite symtom.

Is the error a "Transmit error....message 10091"?
You may want to read this:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q302861/

Apparently, the virus corrupted some of the dynamic link library files that you need.

You may want to look up how to restore your system with System Restore.
