Persistent error message in log file
« on: April 01, 2005, 10:22:19 PM »
Every time I scan with Avast 4.6 home edition I get the following error message in the error log file:
System 1352 AAVM - scanning error:x_AavmCheckFileDirectEx:avfilesScanReal of C:\Documents and Settings\RayRing\LocalSettings\Temp\~WRF0001.tmp failed 0000477.

Is this anything to be concerned about?

Thanks and regards

Can you clean your temporary files?, specially on that folder?
If you schedule a boot time scanning, can you get rid of this file (and the error)?

How do I clean the temporary files and schedule a boot time scan?

Clean the temporary files:
1. You can browse Links on my signature for auto-cleaners applications.
2. You can go there with Windows Explorer and manual delete them.
3. For Internet cache, go to Internet explorer >Tools > Internet options > Delete files > Click delete all offline content (just to be sure) > click ok. It might take some time to delete them.

Schedule a boot time scan?
1. Read the help file  ;D
2. Start avast! > Right click the skin > Schedule a boot-time scanning > Select for scanning archives > Boot.

You can also use a freeware tool to get rid of temp files and accumulated junk - CCleaner - Temp File Cleaner, etc.
