Avast! the reason for IP change?

I just downloaded Avast! today seeing as I was in need of a new anti-virus and I saw many good reviews of Avast! I noticed that my IP has since I last looked at it changed, is this Avast!'s doing? I know it's a nooby question and the answer's probably extremely obvious.. but eh.

have you restarted your ISP modem lately?

Avast doesn't change your IP address, that is assigned by your ISP. Unless you pay for a fixed IP address it can be assigned dynamically, then there is a very high probability that it will change.

With broadband providers the IP address may stay the same for longer, but again it can change, usually the only way to keep the same IP is usually to pay your ISP.

I did try and find the answer before posting without luck, I see now the reason I didn't find anything about Avast changing the IP is because it doesn't. Thank you both for the fast replies.
