turn off outgoing email notice
« on: April 03, 2005, 10:38:36 PM »
Is there a way to turn off or disable the following from outgoing emails?

"avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean.
Virus Database (VPS): 0513-2, 04/01/2005
Tested on: 4/3/2005 4:20:00 PM
avast! - copyright (c) 1988-2004 ALWIL Software.
http://www.avast.com"

We maintain a number of health related email lists.. and our list host (along with many subscribers) has a severe space shortage... thus 4+ lines of -this email has been scanned and found virus free by... -   is not only unwelcomed.. but against the lists' rules .. not to mention the unwarrented advertising to a rather captive audience :(

Is there a way to turn that notice off in outgoing emails?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, there is, someone may have switched this on as I believe it is off by default.

Just untick the insert clean note into clean message, Internet Mail Provider, Customize... button, in the SMTP Tab.
