Might I ask you guys if there is a list of what are these functions for? I have only the Remote Assistance and the last one istalled but I can't found out what this one does. (PS: My Avast is in portuguese and I don't know the function's exact name in English. The direct translation is Connect to Manager).  :'(

same for me .. both in auto and customer mode, Google Chrome is installed .. so i've uninstalled both .. no thank you Avast - you don't install stuff i never asked for, no matter how 'harmless'.. so i'm going elsewhere

Would anyone run a piece of software from a bunch of sneaks? I use to have some respect for Google, but no more. At first it was Chrome, now it is Google Apps and domain registration. Google keeps billing a defunct credit card. I would be happy to give them a current card, but their instructions don't work.

I take it you are using a mobile device. If it's Google who is doing the billing I suggest you contact them.

This also happened to me.I had to uninstall it, but the Google apps and extensions somehow are embedded in my CCleaner startup. Damn unethical.

I think people seriously need to either get their eyesight checked or learn to read properly in their chosen language.In the avast installer there is a clear tickbox as to whether chrome should be installed.

From the fanfare i am hearing on this thread it appears that people just go click click click without reading the pages properly.

The one thing i will add is that avast should make the chrome install tickbox slightly larger as people seem to be missing it.

It is always installed with the user permission.
I have never seen avast installing anything without the user permission.

How long have you used avast.
If your comment were true then why on earth was/is this thread even in existence.A search on this forum will reveal quite the contrary to what you are saying.
Just because it never installed without permission for you does not mean it doesnt for others. :)
