I've been having this problem for some time now with a number of versions of Avast.   With Avast running, the wifi indicator on my Windows 7 toolbar will show an error that it has "No Internet Access" even though it actually does have access and I can surf the web fine.   If I temporarily turn off the shields and refresh the connection, the error message will disappear and I can reactivate the shields.   I have tried the suggestion I found elsewhere to have Avast load after other services but this didn't help.   Any suggestions?
