False positives on Adobe font
« on: April 10, 2005, 07:52:11 PM »
I think I got three false positives when installing Adobe FontFolio Open Type Edition.

As suggested on this thread I tested the three fonts on JOTTI and the results for all three were the same:

AntiVir Found nothing
Avast Found Win32:Aris
AVG Antivirus Found nothing
BitDefender Found nothing
ClamAV Found nothing
Dr.Web Found nothing
F-Prot Antivirus Found nothing
Fortinet Found nothing
Kaspersky Anti-Virus Found nothing
mks_vir Found nothing
NOD32 Found nothing
Norman Virus Control Found nothing
VBA32 Found nothing

Status: POSSIBLY INFECTED/MALWARE (Note: this file was only classified as malware by scanners known to generate more false positives than the average scanner. Do not consider these results definitely accurate. Also, because of this, results of this scan will not be recorded in the database.)

I sent the 3 fonts zipped and password protected to virus@avast.com as indicated in that thread.

Thanks for posting... Really seems that it`s a false positive.
Not all the times the Alwil team answers directly... They try to correct the error (if there is one) but not all the times you`ll get a direct answer from them.
I guess you won`t mind too much if they correct the error  ;) 8)

Thanks for the file - unfortunatelly, you didn't include the archive password, and the obvious possibilties don't work. Can you tell us the password, please?
Thanks.
