NSIS and DivX
« on: April 05, 2005, 07:33:29 PM »
I'm trying to install DivX but keep getting and error. (image here: )

I've been to the DivX site and from what I've read it's something to do with my Antivirus software (Avast) and "false positive"

Tried just turning Avast off  just for the install but still no joy.

any help please?

I can't see your image...
Can you post more about your system?
Firewall, operational system, avast version, etc.

I'm on XP, with Zonealarm, Avast Home 4.6.

Try to download the DivX setup again, and see if you encounter the same problem...

"False positive" means that a virus would be detected in the downloaded file (I admit it happened previously for some NSIS installers) - and you would clearly see the virus alert. If your download it "just" corrupted, however, it has nothing to do with antivirus software.

You can try to clear you browser cache before downloading again... maybe the browser is using cached corrupted data.
