Thanks for this. i have wanted to test my Avast since i did some clean up and got some checks done in the forums. i haven't had any alerts on my comp in months.

1. Pass
2. Nothing at first - I checked it again after cleaning my cache - Pass.
3. Manual Detection when scanned in downloads but it allowed the download. I have pup on by default.
4. Pass
5. Pass

Avast 8 free - build 130607-0

This is great. About #3: I always scan files i download so i feel Avast is wai. What setting should detect downloads?

You have to enable PUPs in webshield settings too.
