Is there a problem with WebShield in v.8.0.1489 ?
« on: June 14, 2013, 05:10:10 AM »
Windows XP-SP3, Avast Free today updated to 8.0.1489 over the .1483 (not clean install), definitions 130613-1 are current.

Since the update with enabled Web shield I can no longer get out to the internet using Opera or SeaMonkey.
I can ping google from cmd.
Disabled Webshield seems to be the only solution to be able to come here or Wilders or other safe places.

hey it sounds like the update was not 100% ok. I suggest try a clean installation and see if that solves the problem.

any other sequrity programs like a third party firewall?
Windows 8.1 amd a10-5700 64 bit

False alarm  - my error :(
I forgot to reenable rules for the proxy port, which I disabled for some testing I was doing for several days.
