Virus or something, web page
« on: June 23, 2013, 04:45:18 AM »
For the last few weeks this webpage has been popping up while I surf the internet.
http://update14.com/player/indexadk.php?af=05e233e6b45a52a2ceb313672c643a9c&of=fp-ron-ie-wm%20%20&bi=715e82df&al=WARNING!%20Your%20Flash%20Player%20may%20be%20out%20of%20date.%20Please%20click%20to%20continue

Are the Avast team aware of this virus/malware whatever it is? I believe it is one as it is not legit. My flash player and everything else having to do with Adobe products are all updated, are the latest versions, and functioning normally. The avast webshield won't stop it from popping up and doesn't recognize it as suspicious I used the scan features too, it just doesn't block the page out, but it blocks other pages so it is on and working.

If they're already working on it that's cool, I'm just doing my part to report suspicious pages on the web.

Adware:
https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/ef3f9dbe37534004ff680815cb55c0c50b8631a5da3acb1d171e9c504f158c07/analysis/1371983587/

So if you download the file, avast should detect it as PUP if pup scanning is enabled but by default avast doesnt scan for PUP's

To enable PUP scanning:
Open up avast user interface>>security tab>>real time shields>>file shield>settings>>sensitivity>> enable PUP scanning check that box>click OK.
