AvastUI.exe application error - startup
« on: June 25, 2013, 09:09:27 PM »
Hello, I have been using Avast for well over 4 years now. This is the first time i've come across a major problem and couldnt find any fixes.

Here is the error I get on start up;

Same error appears with slightly different numbers when trying to repair/unistall Avast via control panel.

Things I've tried;
-Uninstalling, as above
-Used Avast removal tool in Safemode. Then downloaded a fresh Avast and installing, white box appears then disappears
-Tried various other anti viruses, these wont install AT ALL.
-tools used; S&D, windows defender, tdsskiller, MBRcheck. All showing my system is clear.
-System restore to when it lasted worked, error still pops up
-Booted into Windows repair mode, 'windows found nothing to repair' + sfc /scannow. Etc.

As you can see, quite a comprehensive list of attempts to fix it with no avail.
What did I do the day before it broke? Used my pc for 4 hours playing games, nothing out of the norm.

Any help guys?  ???

Windows Defender and SpyBot S&D are both useless.
Have you scanned using MalwareBytes?

You may need to follow these instructions http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
Dell Inspiron, Win10x64--HP Envy Win10x64--Both systems Avast Free v17.9.2322, Comodo Firewall v8.2 w/D+, MalwareBytes v3.0, OpenDNS, Super Anti-Spyware, Spyware Blaster, MCShield, Unchecky, Vivaldi Browser and, various browser security tools.

"Look before you leap!" Use online scanners before you click on any link.

Thanks. I have followed that thread and done everything as followed and will post the logs. Seems all clear atm though.
This problem is still occurring with AVAST.
