VRDB: increase time period through avast4.ini; what setting?
« on: March 08, 2003, 06:07:00 PM »
Hi All,

In the documentation it says the timeframe of 3 weeks can be shortened. You can achieve this by editing avast4.ini. But which setting to add/to modify is not mentioned in the documentation. Can anybody help?

PS Is it wise to shorten the time frame to, say, about 1 week?

Thanx & regards,

Heuvt

Heuvt,

to set the interval, use the value called RunInterval in the [VRDB] section. The value is specified in minutes, i.e. its default (21 days) is 60*24*21=30240. For example, to set the interval to one week, you'd use the setting

[VRDB]
RunInterval=10080

No problem; suitable if you often install some software (i.e. change binary files).
