Honestly, i would believe every bit of that article, because not that long ago a friend of mine got some spyware in my computer using yahoo. The article isnt a paid placement, although if you mean yahoo being paid to give out spyware, than yes i would believe that occurs. Not that long ago i found out from essexboy that yahoo was partnered with ad yield manager, which is a type of spyware. i wouldnt trust that scanner though - that might be paid for, but what the article is speaking is true - at-least on the yahoo part.

Always learn from the master and you'll never look back again IF you ever had another problem is always good to ask the 'Malware Analysts' like essexboy

Every time you (or your kids) load a program, game, or file, your PC's software registry is updated with new instructions needed to operate that item. I would agree with that if you can eyeball your computer speed to a millisecond, if you are normal like the rest of us then there will be no noticable difference in the speed of the computer.  The major factors for computers slowing down are :

Programmers demanding that their programme runs at system start
Failure to empty the temporary files regularly
Not using the defragmentation programme
Lack of RAM
Full hard drives (always keep a minimum of 15% free)
