Install of EPS 7/8 hangs during install

Good morning all,

Was hoping that the new version 8 would resolve this, but it unfortunately has not.  We are having a lot of systems (PC, Windows XPSP3) that are hanging during the installation of the EPS client.  This is happening on both the standalone installer downloaded from Avast as well as the one created on the console with the deployment tast.

It seems to hang mostly at the "Setup Selfextract" stage and will stay there for hours if you don't cancel it in task manager.  On a handful of the systems, rebooting and trying again will work, on a few others it will not, forcing me to put Kaspersky (yuck) back on them.

There are no other AV programs or any thing else weird installed on those systems nor is anything else running while the install is happening.  Firewall is not enabled on the system.

Any help is appreciated.

Some additional info:  If you let the install sit for a couple of hours it will give you two pop-up boxes:

1)  Setup Selfextract - an error 2 (00000002) has occured.  Last performed operation was: extracting files
2)  Setup GUI - Setup GUI DLL was not initialized successfully.  Setup canno continue

Once again - thanks in advance.  Hopefully someone can lend some insight on this.
