firefox refuses to open after booting OS (Windows 7)
« on: July 19, 2013, 10:25:16 AM »

After booting up, I double click on my Mozilla Firefox icon.  A warning pops up.

"Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."

The strange thing about this is I didn't start a Firefox process.  So, I am unable to use Firefox.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Can you try going into taskmanager/processes and if there is a Firefox process running "end it" and then retry.

I tried that already.  There isn't a "firefox.exe" process there.

What i think has happened is that you have overdone it with the clicking.Try right click and then open and if this does not work then reboot the computer.

I had similar problem a few weeks ago.I installed same version "over the top"
and that fixed it.I guess some file was corrupted or something.
