Thats because microsoft changed his policy.
You have to pay now if you want it to work in OE.
Luckily I still can use it, for as long it takes.  :(

I seem to recall that policy was for new hotmail accounts - Ive been using hotmail with OE for years and now I cant, so what has changed in avast to disable this for me and others but not everyone.

I can still use it for as long as it takes but that will change.
I have read somewhere that the changes will take place at April.
I can still use it in OE but not for long I'm afraid.
Avast has solved the problem in the last update, so thats not the problem anymore.
If you still want to use hotmail in OE, you have to pay for it or get a Gmail account ;D

Which update would that be?  The version of Avast has not changed since this thread started.

I guess a virus update.
My firewall asked for permission because a program was changed.
Cant remember which one, but it had to do with avast.

Interesting, I'm not sure how this could have been fixed by a virus update.  I show no Avast programs updated since 04/19.

Actually, it can ;)
The VPS file (virus database) doesn't contain only the virus samples, but also a small "configuration part", so it's possible to affect some of the features (to a limited extent).
