R.I.P my desktop
« on: July 23, 2013, 03:12:41 AM »
Today I factory reset my desktop computer. Wondering what I should do for an antivirus, I went with avast! after seeing how well it worked with my laptop (which I'm currently using to post this).

However, immediately after downloading and installing the one available on the front page, my desktop immediately blue screens. After it restarts, it proceeds to crash right at the welcome screen. I tried going in safe mode or doing another factory restore, but so much as pressing any key on my keyboard will freeze my computer without question. I'm stuck here with no other option than waiting.

I'm upset that this happened and would appreciate any possible answers or solutions.

Did you first uninstall the factory AV that would have been supplied with your system when purchased, if you had previously removed it a factory reset would bring it back again.
