No Boot Scan?
« on: July 23, 2013, 02:22:10 PM »
Hi,

I kept getting blue screen crashes - 'your computer has detected a threat, etc'  so I did a full 'CC Cleaner' delete, then a full Malwarebytes scan, followed by a full Safe Mode Avast scan. Avast found 1 file it didn't like 'Driver Detective' which was adware. I deleted that file. Then Avast asked me if I wanted to run a Boot Scan for safety's sake 'yes' or 'no'? so I hit 'yes' and the pc resarted, but no Boot Scan followed.

Perplexed.

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

AV

Can you initiate a Boot Scan from normal mode?
Perhaps a Safe Mode issue?

Any luck with this?

Boot Scans never seem to work on my Windows 7 Workstations.

Stephen

Sounds like you have other issues.
May be a good Idea to follow the steps outlined at:

Are you able to access safe mode ?

Reboot the computer then immediately press and hold F8

Thanks, I do a full virus scan in Safe Mode whenever I suspect a problem, follwed by a full Malwarebytes. I do a CC Cleaner and ADW Cleaner set to delete, all those together seem to flush out anything suspect.
