Turning off the 'virus found' dialoug box popup on server
« on: November 28, 2006, 06:13:56 AM »
Hi All,

When the server scans incoming mail for viruses and finds one, a box pops up waiting for user input. While this box is up email in and out is paused.

How do I turn this notification off please?

Also I can not get the server version to update as it can't find the AVAST server.

I have tried making it use the same proxy as IE. IE works fine, I can get pages no Problem.

running SBS2000 with the latest download of Avast for SBS.

Thanks

Steve, I'm not used to avast for SBS but, I can guess two options:

1. Silent Mode of the mail scanner
2. Silent Mode for any Heuristic analysis of the mail scanner

Isn't any automated action to be set when a virus is found by the mail scanner?

Thanks Tech.

I can guess that too.

Am actually after 'how to'.

Will send an email to support. Wishfull thinking that those who do know actually spend regular time on the official support forums.

w0mbat, something's wrong here. Are the Exchange and SMTP plugins installed in avast?

Internet Mail should normally NOT be active in server environments, and no boxes should pop up (of course!) :)
