How do I uninstall avast

I am getting a blue screen error relating to aavmker4.sys.  My PC crashes after about 10 secs and I do not know how to uninstall avast.  From reading other postings here, I believe it may have to do with recent upgrade avast 4.  Any ideas...

Can you boot into the safe mode using F8 right before the boot-menu appears?
If yes, you can use the common uninstall procedure (Control Panel / Add/Remove programs) or using this tool.

Please, can you send us the latest minidumps from the Windows\Minidump folder (e.g. to vlk@asw.cz)? That might help us to solve the problem. Thanks.
