Scan
« on: April 28, 2005, 09:03:08 AM »
Hello,
I am using XP Pro SP2 and the current version of Avast Pro. When my scheduled virus scan is complete is there anyway of seeing the result automatically, or do I always have to start Avast anti virus and check the last session?  Maybe I needn't bother as I will be informed if there is a problem. Is that the case?
Many thanks.

For scheduled scans, the results are stored (if that task is configured so) in avast! database - so, you really have to check the last sessions results.
What kind of problem exactly do you mean?

Thanks Igor,
The problem I meant was that if a virus detected I would be told and therefore I need not worry about checking the scan result.

If a virus is detected, it will be stored in the session results, just as any other results. So, it won't be presented e.g. as a messagebox. The scheduled scans may be running even when nobody is logged on, so in general there may be no desktop to show the dialog on.
Of course, you can set an virus alert in the corresponding task - so you will be notified (e.g. by e-mail) when a virus is detected.
