I would like to know this as well, I bought TheftAware a few weeks before it was purchased and did not mind that they made it free, but now with premium content I am not happy.

Free one year vouchers are just right now being distributed by email to all former Theft Aware customers. Its subscription license for 1 year for free.

Reinhard thank you for your mail. I have activate my code. A little question is now if after the year the subscription will end automatic or I have to do something?

My hope was that old customers will get the Antitheft feature for lifetime for free like bought in the past.

After 1 year, subscription will automatically end.

Unfortunately it is not possible to give free licenses for all lifetime as those premium services also use up online resources which constantly cost us money (this was not the case with Theft Aware which had no online services tied to it). I hope you all understand that, and I hope you appreciate the current solution.

@Reinhard

thank you for this information. I dont need or better want the other features if there is a anti theft pro solution with lifetime again like before ;) For me Avast is now bloodware and a modular setup will be nicer that anyone will get the features which the person need or want to pay for.

BlackSheik wrote wrote you some words about it and dont repeat my thinking about the lifetime only for theft. This is what I have bought. I understand that I dont have bought the other feature thats right so do a anti theft only again.

i posted a comment for this on german part of this portal and i'll post its translation here:

i think this discussion is questionable and the free vouchers given should not cause such trouble:
a) the features that Anti-Theft / Theft Aware or AMS had all the time since release (+ web portal and so on) are still completely free
b) if there had existed a online service for Theft Aware like it is now existing freely for Anti-Theft we would have had changed our license model as well (constant costs go not in hand with one time payments) - we even could not have provided the free online portal as existing now as cost structure was much more important
c) our premium version only contains nice-to-have features. if compared to competition thats a big difference. E.g. lookouts free functionality is basically crippled in free version. honestly our free version is "their" premium version.
d) I now put my effort into getting some bonus for our former customers - and i think the bonus is non-trivial. disregarding that we see flames which i do not understand

so my question: should i have saved my energy and effort i put on the table for our customers?

Hi Reinhard.
I am one of the former TheftAware unbound user and I got no e-mails. I'm not sure but I could have been using a dismissed email address. Could we recover somehow?
Ps more than this, today theft aware came out with a notification that says:
Licensing problem:
Licensing problem (Italian translation for me).
I don't get it! What's wrong!? I didn't ever insert any license as I have not any...and the notification sounds dangerous...
What should I do?

Thanks.
Regards,
Matteo.
