Itunes/ pc reboot

Any one have an idea why when i open my itunes on my pc and attach my iphone it makes the pc suddenly switch off and reboot ???

There was no mention of the Operating System or the version of avast! used. ???
Think we need to know that before we can answer or refer to another section. :)
