My new skin project
« on: May 01, 2005, 06:47:43 PM »
It's not much for now,but i can show how it will look in the end or at least the idea od design.

It's still in a very early stage, but for me it looks very promising and complete with splash screen design. On the other side i still have problem about edition text on it since we have two versions, but default skin is universal for both (while this new isn't).
More squared design will also help me finish all sliders and other stuff without major complications. Also no name for this skin (yet) :)
If everything goes well, this skin should have the most complex menu and button design to date. I just hope ActiveSkin won't cause any problems... :-\
Otherwise i'm hoping for support from Sasha if he has any time for this :)

Let me know what you think about design idea :)

I too like it as it should also be ok for low spec graphics and it matches in nicely with the avast! splash screen when starting the simple user interface.

I'm assuming the area to the right will be for the Detail Display, etc.?

Yes,you are right. This info field will be on the right.
I'm also planning to make scan location buttons hidden until you click On-Demand.
This should be fairly easy to do i belive.

Cool, this skin looks like the first real alternative for the "non-skinned" interface :)

Yeah, I like this "naked" old-fashioned interface!!! Please, can you evaluate a similar but in blue, like this? I'm happy to see you at work after many many times!!!  ;D

Its not so much an idea as confirmation that was what RejZor was doing, much like the other skins.

I think RejZor's colour scheme was probably to make it and the simple user interface splash screen very much the same, forming a more corporate identity. I think he said in another thread about using blue as an avast identity (but an existing colour scheme for the splash screen would then differ).

Yes. I remembered this fact of "blue". Is the reason why I filled in blue the skin.  ;D
Unfortunately I don't understand how build skins (I downloaded the tool from avast! site... but it isn't clear for me). :'(

Great job RejZoR  ;D . Very nice. I like the idea how you based it on the splash screen.

I think it gives the illusion, that after the splash screen finishes loading, it immediately turns into the actual skin, which seems there wasn't any splash screen and it was the actual skin itself which was doing the memory scan. Especially if you have translucent effect on.

It going to be so cool!   :D Can't wait until it comes out. ;)

Well XtremeKirby, I must say that it doesn't work like that... avast! "remembers" your last position, where you turned off your program last time you used it, and on the other hand, avast! splash screen is always set in the center of the screen, so no matter what you do, it will always be on different position than your avast! main window, unless you always leave your avast! program when it's set exactly in the middle of the screen, which btw, is very hard to keep that way.

Interface was enlarged because of space problems,so it's not the same size as splash anymore.

RejZor, I know it just the beginning of real screenshoots and we can see just a plain brown panel, without showing sliding panels and rest of buttons, etc. it seems to be a nice project indeed  ;)
