Avast Shields Reset Mid Session
« on: July 28, 2013, 11:49:12 PM »
Hi. is it normal for my avast to reset its shields. I've been online for about 3 hours and suddenly all the shields reset to 0/0 for no reason.

Try a repair. Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click "avast">click "repair">reboot.  :)

Hi. Just before the shield reset happened Avast went to the home tab and the smiley face box went yellow for brief second

Yes but I think your a little confused, Avast reset its self, the shields all went back to 0/0, then came back on a few seconds later, while I was surfing internet. Avast froze for a few seconds and the shields reset

What is your OS?
What other security software do you have now or "ever" had?
If uninstalled, how was it uninstalled?

What version of avast?  ???
Windows 8 or Windows 8.1?  ???

There are some known issues with Win 8.1
If you are using Win 8.1 see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=85094.msg690352#msg690352  :)
